Storie di un potere invisibile un Opera di Giulia Bocciero e Davide Simonetti
Dietro ciò che mangiamo ci sono dei semi, delle persone, delle storie. L’intreccio di questi tre elementi è da sempre causa ed effetto di numerose implicazioni di tipo economico, politico e sociale. Dopo una formazione con Maxime Schmitt, contadino, attivista e divulgatore scientifico, coordinatore della MSPM, nasce “SEMIS-storie di un potere invisibile”. Giulia e Davide hanno scelto di raccontare questa complessità creando una serie di immagini e partiture fisiche legate ai temi della sparizione della biodiversità, dell’industria semenziera (la nascita e l’evoluzione dei cosiddetti ibridi F1), del legame profondo fra coltura e cultura. Cinque scope piantate in fiaschi di sabbia, un teatrino di legno pieno di disegni, un vecchio, due giocatori di scacchi e una figura femminile immensa e misteriosa popolano la scena: un tappeto volante che sorvola con leggerezza la miseria e la follia dell’essere umano, la stanchezza e la gioia della terra. La grande quantità di storie, suoni, aneddoti e saperi raccolti durante il percorso progettuale ha reso SEMIs uno spettacolo intimo e comunitario, capace di connettere le persone del pubblico.

In the background of what we eat, there are seeds, people and stories. The mixing of these three elements has always been the cause and effect of a number of implications involving economics, politics and society. SEMIS – stories of an invisible power was created after a training season with Maxime Schmitt – a farmer, activist, science popularizer and coordinator of MSPM. Giulia and Davide decided to tell the complex story by creating a series of images and live choreographed moments on stage linked to themes regarding the disappearance of biodiversity, the seed industry (the birth and evolution of so – called F1 hybrids), the profound connection between crops and culture. Five brooms planted in flasks with sand, a little wooden playhouse full of drawings, an old man, two chess players and a huge mysterious female figure populate the scene: a flying carpet that delicately hovers over the misery and folly of human beings, over the exhaustion and joy of the earth. The sheer quantity of stories, sounds, anecdotes and knowledge gathered to design this project has made SEMIs an intimate and communal show, capable of connected the people in the audience.
